for Zoom Meetings
Hi everyone and welcome to the Del Ray Club Zoom meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. My name is __________, and I am an alcoholic.
Meetings at the Del Ray Club virtual location are open to anyone with a desire to stop drinking. We are grateful you are here, especially newcomers. We are committed to providing a safe environment for meetings to take place. If you experience any behavior that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please reach out to a member of the House Committee, your sponsor or another group member and we will address the situation.
A quick word about Zoom etiquette and tips:
- The Secretary Chair will take precautions against Zoom bombers and intruders, which may include muting participants.
- To respect the principles of Tradition 11 and Tradition 12, please be located in a private space when logged in the Zoom mtg
- Keep yourself on mute unless you wish to talk.
- If you’ve dialed in by phone, press *6 to mute and unmute yourself.
- The chair team will call on people who wish to share; click on “Participants” to find the “raise hand” button under your name or wave your hand if you’re on video. If you’ve dialed in by phone by raise your hand by pressing *9.
- Use the chat box with discretion when addressing Everyone.
- In the spirit of anonymity, you are encouraged to change your last name if it appears on Zoom participants. Please adjust by clicking on Participants > Your Name > Rename. If you are having difficulty with this, the hosts can edit your name for you.
I’ve asked ___________ to read the AA Preamble: (Or read it yourself)
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
